A garden left for years is not a bigger tidy-up. It is a different job, and part of the price is that nobody yet knows what is under it.
Heavily overgrown clearance is quoted on the sheer volume of material, the density of growth, the access and the unknowns. Brambles, ivy and self-seeded saplings take far longer to cut than they look, and produce a great deal more waste than expected.
We do not publish a fixed price list for garden clearance, because the volume of material and the access at each property vary enormously. What we can do is explain what moves the number, so you know what to look at before you ask.

Nesting birds are legally protected from roughly March to August, and hedgehogs, slow worms and bats can all be present in exactly the sort of undisturbed cover a neglected garden provides. In practice this means checking before cutting, working in a way that lets wildlife move out, and occasionally deferring part of the work. It is not a formality and it is not an excuse for delay — it is simply how the work is done properly.
